Local Lessons<\/strong><\/h3>\n

If you are a piper who lives within driving distance of London, Ontario, you can arrange to have private, one on one (in person), lessons with John Cairns.<\/p>\n

Lessons are one hour in length and students are encouraged to record their lessons for future reference.<\/p>\n

All students will be taught using the Bagpipe Solutions by John Cairns curriculum and any additional reference material or music that may be required will be provided by John Cairns.<\/p>\n

If you are interested in making arrangements for local lessons, here are the steps involved in becoming a local student of John’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Step 1:<\/strong><\/td>\nPlease contact John directly by email at jcairns.bpsolutions@gmail.com<\/a><\/strong>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Step 2:<\/strong><\/td>\nJohn will then send you an email response with a detailed PDF file that outlines how the local lessons work (including pricing information).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Step 3:<\/strong><\/td>\n\n

After reading the PDF, if you still want to proceed with arranging for lessons, you will need to send John a new email<\/strong> <\/em>with the following information:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Your name.<\/li>\n
  • Where you live.<\/li>\n
  • The length of time you have been playing on the practice chanter and\/or bagpipe.<\/li>\n
  • Your previous instructors (if any).<\/li>\n
  • The competition level you currently play at (if applicable).<\/li>\n
  • A list of some of the tunes that you can currently play (if applicable).<\/li>\n
  • The pipe band you play in (if applicable).<\/li>\n
  • An indication of the:\n
      \n
    • Number of lessons you are looking for each month,<\/li>\n
    • Days\/times of the week that you are available to attend lessons, and<\/li>\n
    • When you would like to start.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Step 4:<\/strong><\/td>\nJohn will then send an email with an indication (based on the availability you have sent him) of the days\/times that he would be available to teach you.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
